Workshop Prep for Hoosier Hills

Happy Memorial Day!

We've had a busy weekend here at the Dingo Ranch preparing for the Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival (is it really next week??)

We had an awesome response to our workshops this year with way more people than expected signing up, so this long weekend has been spent hammering and sorting and wrapping and prepping.

Kumihimo kits are together, S-Lon is organized, and beadsets are sorted. I made extra kits again this year so we will have some available for sale at the booth as well.

We have some really color beautiful combinations this year, so i cant wait to see what beautiful pieces come out of these workshops. I just have to remember to take a photo setup so we can get some student work up on the website!

The fiber-wrapped bangle class has been a stunner. This is the first time we've offered the class, and I expected maybe four people to sign up for the class, but instead it darn near sold out. We use a copper core for this kind of work because it is a good combination of strength and flexibility, and we ended up having to put in a rush order for more stock that got here right before the holiday weekend. So this weekend we ended up hammering out one hundred and ten (110) bracelet blanks in four sizes. Each blank is an 8-step operation, so thats a pretty tall order, but we managed to get it knocked out. What we don't use in the class we will kit up and have for sale at the booth.

Fortunately it was a beautiful weekend and we have plenty of shade, so we were able to enjoy some outdoors while working.
